Expected Growth
« on: March 01, 2012, 10:35:44 PM »
Just got word from a friend still in band that the directors are expecting a band of 180-190 members next year.
The thing about being an Indian is that you're an Indian, no matter what. It doesn't matter if you play soccer or a tuba, it doesn't matter if you're on the football team or the drill team, it doesn't matter if you lead the cheers or the jeers. You're still part of that "Honor, Pride, & Tradition."

In the 70s and 80s the band appeared to be much larger than recent years.  Does anyone know how many members the band had back then?

250 or more, and the band hasn't been that big since at least the early 90s. Somewhere in the band library, there are records for the size of the band over the years. My senior year had the largest band since the late 90s standing at about 170.
